Louis Segond was a swiss theologian who translated the original bible into French language. He was born in Plainpalais situated near Geneva. He was pastor of the Geneva National Church in Chêne-Bougeries. Later in 1872, he became the professor of Old Testament in Geneva.
His translations were published in a two volume publication.
